You have to book your visit at the townhouse shop. The shop is only 2 min along from the palace. Your limited to 8 people in a group and it's in 15 Min interval between each group. The building has a Mediterranean feel about it with its bright colour especially when the sun is out. You enter through a large court yard where the staff will meet you. It not really wheelchair friendly most of the things to see are on upper floors but at the start of the tour there is a 10 Min presentation and it on ground floor. There also the wine cellar and kitchen on the ground floor but the kitchen area. The presentation is very good and very informative and it tells you about the history of Culross and how it became a royal burgh. The rooms are well laid out but there's only a small bit of information about them. The gardens are incredibly well looked after and there is a lot of benches so you can sit and enjoy the stunning views looking out towards the burgh and across the water to the hills.

A well preserved merchant's house providing an interesting insight into 16th & 17th century Scottish life. Beautifully maintained gardens and helpful volunteers. Don't miss the opportunity to wander around the atmospheric historical village. Take Bus 8a from Dunfermline Bus Station. The service runs hourly and stops directly in front of the palace.
